At the very edge of the Bronx, just barely touching Manhattan, Talavera Cantina in Mott Haven welcomes those wanting serious flavor and well curated drinks. Founded by a dynamic sister duo, this Latina-owned establishment has quickly become a symbol of empowerment in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

With familial origins from San Miguel de Lozano, Puebla, sisters Karen and Britney are the creative pair who founded Talavera Cantina. But thanks to Mamá Adriana, from they took their collective expertise to another level. Concocting innovative syrup fusions and purees that elevate each cocktail to a work of art that embodies pieces of Mexico. Adriana is a seasoned bartender with over fourteen years of experience, and she misses no opportunity to showcase her years of knowledge on spirits. You won’t find many varied and inventive drinks such as these. You can find the China Poblana, De la Olla, and El Charro drinks alongside refreshing Mezcal-ritas infused with tropical flavors like mango, pitaya, and horchata.

And for a limited time, Talavera Cantina is offering the Puebla York Sour, a unique twist on the classic New York Sour that introduces patrons to Mexican whisky and wine. Combining the smooth richness of Mexican corn whisky with the tartness of red wine from Baja, California, the Puebla York Sour offers an experience like no other.

Mamá Adriana's resilience and determination have paved the way for her daughters to pursue their dreams and shatter barriers, proving that with passion, dedication, and a supportive mamá by their side, anything is possible.
