Ponche Taqueria is a family-owned restaurant and realization of the shared dream by the founders who have more than 20 years of expertise working in Manhattan’s food industry. Although it is simple to overlook this inviting eatery, word has traveled swiftly thanks to Ponche's special flavors. Ponche Taqueria aims to make food that is delicious, authentic and offers a touch of Mexico in the big city.
Baraquiel Sanchez is the head chef, and owner of Ponche Taqueria. Arriving in New York at just 13 years old, he was soon inspired to have his own restaurant. He was mentored by immigrants who also shared the same dream and determination. He always told himself that he wanted to be with the top restaurants of Hell’s Kitchen and never lost sight of that dream, which has become a reality. Ponche taqueria was #3 in Best Places To Eat in 2021, and has been featured on CNN.
Menu highlights include Tacos de Pescado, Tacos al Pastor, Fajitas, Carnitas Borrachas, and the house sangria.
